Qualifications and Specialized Experience Requirements:

Each job announcement has specific qualifications and specialized experience requirements. Each announcement will identify the IFPM/FSFPM qualifications required for the position. The Interagency Fire Program Management Standard (IFPM) is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Interior wildland bureaus to establish minimum qualification standards for key positions in Fire and Aviation Management (FAM). In addition, the U.S. Forest Service implemented an agency addendum to IFPM called the Forest Service Fire Program Management Standard (FS-FPM).

If you do not meet the qualifications for the above listed announcements/positions, please visit the Wildland Fire Apprentice Page. The Wildland Fire Apprenticeship program is a development firefighter position where no IFPM/FSFPM firefighter qualifications are required. These are highly competitive positions.
