Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness - Superior National Forest


Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) - located near Ely and Grand Marais, Minnesota.


The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, made part of the National Wilderness Preservation System in 1964, is over 1 million acres in size and is located in the northern third of the Superior National Forest.  There is over 1200 miles of canoe routes, 12 hiking trails and over 2000 designated campsites.
