Medford, Ore. – In celebration of Oregon’s Free Fishing Weekend (June 1-2), the Medford Bureau of Land Management and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest are once again teaming up for their annual free fishing event. This year’s event will be held at Fish Lake on Saturday, June 1. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.

Fishing rods and tackle will be provided to give kids the chance to wet a line, and there will be plenty of other activities for families to participate in. Families can also learn how to measure fish and make a “fish print” painting. There will be grab bags for the kids, and Smokey Bear will also be making an appearance to take photos and dole out Smokey Hugs!

Please join us for a great day of fun at the lake and learn about all things fish-related and the natural world at Fish Lake!

The public are encouraged to follow the Facebook event page for additional information. For additional information, contact AJ Donnell at 541-618-2200, or the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest’s High Cascades Ranger District (Prospect) at 541-560-3400.
