Title II Resource Advisory Commitee

Title II Resource Advisory Committee

The San Juan National Forest requested approval for the San Juan NF Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) to combine with the Rocky Mountain RAC. The approval to join the Rocky Mountain RAC, which was recently initiated and is a consolidation of several area Forests, is currently pending.  Once the approval to join the Rocky Mountain RAC is received, new project proposals would proceed accordingly again.

The San Juan Title II RAC holds annual meetings is to review previously approved projects and recommend new project proposals for funding under the Title II provision of the Secure Rural Schools Act. Title II funding is targeted toward projects that propose watershed restoration, road decommissioning or maintenance, noxious weed management, forest health, or other improvements that benefit the condition of the National Forest.  Projects are intended to make investments and create employment opportunities through maintenance of existing infrastructure, implementation of stewardship objectives or restoration of land health and water quality. To read previous minutes from RAC meetings or to learn more about the work of the San Juan Title II RAC, go to: https://cloudapps-usda-gov.secure.force.com/FSSRS/RAC_Page?id=001t0000002JcvFAAS
