Don’t Miss These Spots!
The Boggy Draw area is a collection of gravel roads, four wheel drive roads and ATV trails that work well for easy OHV exploring. The roads and trails begin just a few miles outside of the town of Dolores and spread out on the east side of the Dolores Norwood Road (FS 526). This main road (FS 526) is closed to OHV’s, but all the FS roads on either side offer great riding up to impressive views. Dispersed camping is also allowed along most of these roads so the area works well for a weekend of touring.
The Aspen Loop Trail, just 12 miles NE of Mancos, is the center of another great area to explore with ATV’s, motorcycles or side by sides. The Loop itself is 39 miles, mostly on trails for vehicles 50” or less, but it connects to a variety of FS roads that are open to side by sides. There are also a handful of technical singletrack motorcycle trails that connect to the area. Camping is also easy at Transfer Campground or dispersed camping along most of the roads.
