SWJM Landscape Restoration - Public Involvement

How to Get Involved

  • View the latest status reports, notices, planning documents, maps, and other information.
  • Contact specific partners to talk about your concerns, share your ideas or offer to volunteer.
  • Email comments/questions about this effort to: jemezrestoration@fs.usda.gov.

The Process

  • During the assessments phase, we analyzed existing conditions and developed desired conditions for multiple resources to determine specific restoration needs and priorities.
  • During the strategy phase, we conducted a highly interactive and collaborative process to develop the 10-year landscape restoration strategy. During this phase, we formed a collaboration working group to design the strategy, using Federal Landscape Restoration Act criteria.
  • During the project-level NEPA phase, each land management agency worked with interested parties to design site-specific project proposals and complete the NEPA analysis and decision-making process.
  • Now that we are in the implementation and monitoring phase, there are still opportunities to be involved in restoration activities and participate in monitoring and evaluation activities.
