Tesuque Peak Road Plowing to Start within 24 Hours

SANTA FE, NM – February 6, 2018 – For Immediate Release. Santa Fe National Forest officials announce snow plowing will take place as early as today or tomorrow on Tesuque Peak Road to allow access for a propane truck to refuel radio communications site generators.

The radio communications site on Tesuque Peak has been without power for several days and is operating on propane generators. Refueling the generators allows the communications site to operate until electrical power is restored.

Plowing operations are hopefully to be completed in one day.

Tesuque Peak Road, also known as Forest Road 150, is closed to motor vehicles except by permit. The area is usually popular for winter recreation like snowshoeing and Nordic skiing, however dry weather conditions diminished such activities so far this year. Permit holders and the general public are advised of the activity as a safety precaution.
