If you plan to enjoy the fall colors, visit us at https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/santafe/home/?cid=fseprd597823 for information.

Know before you go. Check the weather forecast and be prepared for seasonal fluctuations, including rain and the potential for flash floods. Use good judgment and basic safety precautions when hiking, fishing or camping in the Forest. Although fire danger is decreased, campfire safety and prevention is always a priority. Never leave a campfire unattended, and make sure coals are cold to the touch before leaving the area.

Also, conditions are typically favorable for prescribed burns during spring and fall months; therefore be aware of potential smoke impacts should you plan to visit the forest. Contact the local Ranger District or the Forest Headquarters at (505) 438-5300 for more information.
