HAZARD TREE REDUCTION TO BEGIN AT ELK CREEK CAMPGROUND AND PARK CREEK OVERLOOK

STANLEY, ID – Starting in May two areas in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area will have logging contractors working to remove hazardous trees that could present a risk to the recreating public.

Those sites include: Elk Creek Campground and Park Creek Overlook.  Both sites are seven miles north of Stanley on Highway 21.  The sites will be closed to the public to allow loggers to fell trees safely.  The sites will re-open once the hazard tree reduction work has finished.  The Sawtooth National Recreation Area will plant new trees after the removal work is done.

If you have any questions about this project please contact Nelson Mills, Zone Forester at (208) 727-5021.
