Road Maintenance on Salmon River Road Starting this Week

SALMON, Idaho – The Salmon-Challis National Forest Road Crew will begin maintenance work on the Salmon River Road (Forest Service Road 030) on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, and work through Wednesday, April 4, 2018. 

This work will be begin at Shoup and continue to the end of the road at Corn Creek.  Maintenance work includes blasting operations that will minimize large rocks and hazard trees along the roadway.  The road will remain open, however, forest visitors should expect minor delays while blasting work is being completed. 

Throughout April and into early May, the Road Crew will spend additional time grading the road surface.  Be advised that heavy equipment will be working the entire length of the Salmon River Road.  Forest visitors should use caution as they travel in the area.  For more information regarding road maintenance and current conditions in the area, contact the North Fork Ranger District at 208-865-2700 or the Public Lands Center at 208-756-5100.
