The Forge Fire; reported August 26 is located approximately seven (7) miles southwest of Yellowjacket Guard Station in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness on the North Fork Ranger District.  No smoke is showing on the fire and the fire size is approximately two (2) acres and is burning in lodgepole pine.  Due to heavy fuel loading, the presence of numerous snags (a standing dead tree or part of a dead tree), and the potential for rollout, firefighters have been unable to directly engage the fire.  Middle Fork Peak Lookout is monitoring the fire.

The Muldoon Fire; reported August 16 is 100% contained and controlled as of 9/16 at 374 acres.  Firefighters continue to monitor the fire.  No closures are in place for the Muldoon Fire.
