Sustainable Target Shooting
The Francis Marion & Sumter National Forests continues its quest to provide safe, enjoyable and accessible recreation opportunities for all visitors. Rifle ranges remain popular and well-used recreation areas on the FMS. We maintain and manage these ranges so that they remain accessible to you, the visitor, as well as environmentally sustainable.
However, we can’t maintain our current recreation sites, including rifle ranges, alone. We strive to improve and increase our network of partners. Our relationships with partners help fulfill shared visions, leverage funding sources as well as identify new opportunities.
We are intent on keeping you apprised and aware of the status of current environmental studies. We will continue to update this page with new information as it becomes available.
