Francis Marion & Sumter National Forests offers virtual services in response to COVID-19

Columbia, SC – March 26, 2020 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: – The Francis Marion & Sumter National Forests is implementing today virtual services to protect the health and safety of employees and members of the public during the COVID-19 outbreak in accordance with guidance from federal and state authorities.

Customers needing information, permits and maps are encouraged to call the following numbers during regular business hours for prompt, customer service.

"We are taking these steps to help ensure the safety of the public and our employees by limiting potential exposure at our offices," said Rick Lint, Forest Supervisor. "With this change to conducting all our business by phone, email, and internet services, we will continue to provide the public with forest information, updates, and service."

These actions have been taken based on the best available medical advice to limit gatherings of large numbers of people and to promote social distancing.
