CODY, Wyo., July 11, 2018 – The opening of Clay Butte Lookout on the Clarks Fork District of the Shoshone National Forest has been postponed due to damage on Forest Service Road 142.

Forest Service Road 142, which is the access road for Clay Butte Lookout, has a large slump which does not allow for safe passage. For the safety of the public, the road will remain closed until it can be fixed. District Ranger Sue Stresser said, “Barring any unforeseen situations, we hope to have repairs completed, and the road open, by the end of July.”
