Seeking new Shoshone Resource Advisory Committee members

The Shoshone National Forest, working with Fremont and Park counties, is seeking individuals interested in becoming a part of the resource advisory committee (RAC) that collaborates with the Forest Service on projects to benefit the Shoshone National Forest in Fremont and Park counties.

The committee solicits and reviews project proposals and recommends projects to be funded under Title II of the Secure Rural Schools Act (Act), which was reauthorized by Congress for one year under the Helium Stewardship Act last October.

Committee members serve four-year terms and represent diverse interests in public lands including, but not limited to, elected and tribal officials, commercial industry, environmental groups, developed and dispersed recreationists, and school officials.

There are currently 13 vacancies on the Shoshone RAC. Shoshone RAC members must reside in the state of Wyoming.
