Outreach for Fresno / Madera County Resource Advisory Committee to accept project proposals.

For Immediate Release: Clovis, CA. March 5, 2019 - The Fresno / Madera County Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) is seeking applications for projects that would enhance forest ecosystems or restore and improve land health and water quality on the Sierra National Forest and other near-by lands. The RAC will recommend projects for funding in for both Fresno County and Madera County, made available through the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act.

The RAC works closely with the Forest Service to recommend projects that will benefit National Forest lands within Freson and Madera Counties including, control of invasive species, natural resource education, pre-suppression, FireWise information and education, recreation, wildland fuel reduction and strategic Fuel Breaks, and wildlife habitat and native species protection.

RAC projects must be located on National Forest System Lands in Fresno County or Madera County or on other nearby lands if the project will benefit the resources on the National Forests. Projects can be completed by Forest Service personnel, through partnership agreements or by open-bid contracting with individuals and corporations.

The deadline for accepting proposals is April 26, 2019.
