The Siuslaw National Forest typically accepts applications for seasonal spring and summer jobs in fall. Positions are available in multiple fields, including recreation, natural resources, timber, engineering, and visitor services. Summer Fire Jobs

Seasonal jobs in firefighting on the Siuslaw National Forest include working on a local unit handcrew, on an engine crew, in fire prevention, or as a lookout. See the National Fire and Aviation website for more information on types of Fire Jobs in the Forest Service.

Remember, these are tough jobs usually performed in primitive, backcountry conditions. In addition to specific requirements for each kind of job, it is essential that firefighters be in top physical condition for this demanding work.
