The Stanislaus National Forest is seeking career-focused individuals for wildland firefighter employment during the 2017 fire season as administrative duty on-call staff members. These positions support wildland fire operations on Stanislaus National Forest and surrounding areas during the summer. Seasonal jobs can help pave the way for future permanent employment and career advancement in the Forest Service. If you are selected for this opportunity, the readiness training will provide formal classroom and hands-on field wildland fire training and orientation. Food, lodging and compensation will be provided for all applicants selected to attend. Attendance is required during all four 10-hour days in order to successfully complete the training and receive the certification. This training includes wildland firefighter basic certifica-tions for employment (Basic 40), a resume workshop and a USAJOBS overview.

  • Travel and work throughout the United States
  • Work during the summer and have winters off for school or other commitments
  • All required training is provided
