Road-Accessible Lakes

  Lyons Reservoir Take 3N14 off of Highway 108 and proceed 2 miles to reservoir 184 Acres South Fork of the Stanislaus River. BBQ pits, Tables, garbage service, drinking water, and restrooms available. Fishing from shoreline is allowed. No swimming / wading or boating/OHV allowed.  This area, including 3N14 road is owned by PG&E and is on private property. Call Mi-Wok ranger station for road status.
  Pinecrest Lake At the end of Pinecrest Lake Road 300 Acres Easy access via paved road to both day-use area and marina; boat launch available (20 mph limit on lake) Native trout populations supplemented by plantings.
  Beardsley Lake Turn onto 5N02 from Highway 108 704 Acres Easy access via new paved road; boat launch with trailer parking and day use sites available. Day use sites have BBQ grills, picnic tables, garbage service, and restrooms. Stocked with trout plants all season. Beardsley Afterbay has special fishing restrictions, consult CA Dept. of Fish and Game.
  Donnell Lake Only accessible off of 5N09X 401 Acres Road is gated about 1/4 mile from lake access.  Boats cannot be left in or near Donnell Lake.  Take them out with you.
         
         

 


 

Day Use River Access

1 Riverside Day Use Turn on Buchanan Mine Rd (1N01) from Tuolumne Rd. Procede 2.5 Miles along paved road exiting at Riverside Day Use sign. Access to North Fork of the Tuolumne River. Day Use area has BBQs, tables, restrooms, and there is a seasonal swimming area.  River is swift with boulders.
2 North Fork Day Use Turn on 3N01 at Long Barn exit from Highway 108. Proceed 2 miles to just before bridge, exiting 3N01 at the North Fork Day Use sign. Access to North Fork of the Tuolumne River. Day Use area has BBQs/tables. No garbage service or water.  Moderate flows in the river with flat sections and boulders
3 Fraser Flat Fishing Pier Turn onto 4N01 from Highway 108, proceed 3 miles to Fraser Flat Campground on left side of Road. Access to South Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Area has BBQ grills, fire rings, picnic tables, garbage service, drinking water, and accessible restrooms. Two fishing piers and concrete walkways allow wheelchair access to river for fishing.  There is a $5.00 fee for use of picnic tables, parking, and/or BBQ grills. Fishing only is no charge.  River is flat with vegetation on sides.
4 Sand Bar Flat Located at the northeast end of Sand Bar Flat Campground, near the floating bridge.  Take a left turn on 4N01 and continue 11.5 miles staying left at the fork in the road at Spring Gap and making a sharp right trun on 4N88.  Turn left on 4N85 at the gravel pit and follow road 3.5 miles to campground Access to Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Two Day Use sites with picnic tables, BBQ grills, drinking water, restrooms, and garbage service.  No fees. Overnight camping is prohibited at all day-use sites. Larger, longer pools upstream of Sand Bar Flat.  There are small rocky rapids with pools upstream of the bridge, still water downstream.  Forested with steep banks except at the flat area of the day use and campground
9 China Flat Turn onto 5N02 from Highway 108. Located adjacent to Beardsley Afterbay fishing area. The left turn is on the dam just before you reach the spillway. The road is now paved until you get past the powerhouse. Access to South Fork of the Stanislaus River. Day use area has picnic tables and vault toilets. No drinking water available. Beardsley Afterbay is included in the special fishing regulations for the Middle Fork Stanislaus River from Beardsley Reservoir to Spring Gap. Beardsley afterbay is a narrow one-mile stretch of stillwater below Beardsley Dam.  Below the wooden afterbay dam conditions are rocky small rapids with pools.  Forested with steep banks in parts.
25 Cottonwood Day Use Located on Clark's Fork Rd, jus tof Highway 108. Turn onto Clarks Fork Rd 15 miles east of Strawberry; follow road for about 5 miles until reaching sign on the right for day use area. Access to Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Area has picnic tables and accessible restroom but no BBQ grills.  No ground fires permitted. River is flat with some small boulders.
21 Douglas Day Use Located on Highway 108 between Eureka Valley and Kennedy Meadows camping areas. Follow Highway 108 about 25 miles east of Strawberry. Access to Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Area has picnic tables, restrooms, and BBQ grills. No drinking water available. Rocky small rapids with pools. Forested with steep banks.
       

Campground River Access

1 River Ranch Campground 4 miles east of Tuolumne City on Cottonwood Rd. Access to North Fork of the Tuolumne River.  River is swift with boulders.
3 Fraser Flat Campground Turn onto 4N01 from Highway 108, proceed 3 miles to Fraser Flat Campground on left side of Rd. Access to South Fork of the Stanislaus River.  River is flat with vegetation on sides.
4 Sand Bar Flat Campground 10 miles north of Highway 108 at Spring Gap turnoff (Fraser Flat Rd) Road is NOT ADVISABLE for large RVs and trailers. Access Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Flat with boulders along sides. Upstream there is a trail along the river.
9 Beardsley Dam Campground Turn onto 5N02 from Highway 108. Drive across the dam. Beardsley afterbay is included in the special fishing regulations for the Middle Fork Stanislaus River from Beardsley Reservoir to Spring Gap. 19 Dardanelle Campground 23 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station on Highway 108 and across from the Dardanelle Resort. Access to the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River by two trails.
20 Pigeon Flat Campground Walk-in Only campground. 24 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station on Highway 108. Easy access to Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Vegetation on sides, boulders strewn throughout, riffles and pools. Upstream becomes higher gradient and more difficult to traverse because of boulders.
21 Eureka Valley Campground Located on Highway 108 26 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station. Trail next to the host site leads to the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River. River is a mixture of pools, riffles, and calm areas.
22 Baker Campground 27 miles east of  Summit Ranger Station on Highway 108. Turn right at the Kennedy Meadow Sign and then an immeidate right into the campground. Access to South Fork of the Stanislaus River.  River is a mixture of pools, riffles, and calm areas.
23 Deadman Campground 29 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station on Highway 108.  Turn Right on Kenendy Meadow Rd. Access to South Fork of the Stanislaus River.  River is a mixture of pools, riffles, and calm areas.
25 & 26 Clark Fork Campground 25 miles east of Summit Ranger station on Clark Fork Rd.  Take Highway 108 until the junction of Clark Fork Rd, it is then 5 miles on Clark Fork Rd. Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River.  Good Fishing with falls, pools,and rapids.
29 Sand Flat Campground 25 miles east of Summit Ranger station on Clark Fork Rd.  Take Highway 108 until the junction of Clark Fork Rd, it is then 6 miles on Clark Fork Rd. Easy access to the Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River with falls, pools, and rapids.
