Shasta-Trinity National Forest officials have issued a Closure Order for the Fox Fire, which is burning just north of the forest in the Fox Creek area of the Trinity Alps Wilderness on the Klamath National Forest. The closure order No. 14-20-12 prohibits public entry onto National Forest System lands and trails in the closure area, including a short portion of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) west of Scott Mountain. It is effective September 20, 2020 until the Fox Fire is declared out.

The area closed is described by the perimeter drawn from the forest boundary on the west to 9W02 Trail (North Fork Coffee Creek Trail). Then from 9W02 Trail to 8W09 (Granite Creek Trail). Then east along the 8W09 Trail to 7W05 (Eagle Creek Trail) to 8W01 (Tangle Blue Trail). Then east along the 8W01 Trail until it intersects the section line between Sec 27 & 28. Then north on the section line to the forest boundary, and finally the Forest boundary west to the start. The closure order and map are posted online at: www.fs.usda.gov/goto/stnf/forestorders.

The Fox Fire began on September 14. Additional information about the fire can be found on InciWeb at https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7203.
