Storm Damage 2017

Forest Service vehicle covered by a large block of snow.

The Tahoe National Forest has not seen this much snow in years!

In January-March 2017, a series of strong storms hit California, causing extensive damage to roads, trails, infrastructure, and ecosystems on all national forests in the state. The impacts of the damage will have far-reaching effects on forest programs, services, and public access. Damage assessments are still in progress and will continue as the snow melts.
