In the Forest Service, Net Zero is defined as the state when our business operations are in balance with our environment, resulting in zero net consumption. The Forest Service is a steward of many of our nation’s most treasured landscapes, with resources people want and need such as clean air and water, forest products, and recreational opportunities. Moving the Forest Service toward Net Zero is a tool for ensuring that our national forests and grasslands continue to provide these resources and benefits for future generations.
