Christmas Tree Cutting Areas Ketchikan-Misty Fiords Ranger District

Ketchikan, Alaska, Nov 18, 2016 – The USDA Forest Service has identified three areas on Revilla Island, in the Ketchikan-Misty Fiords Ranger District for family Christmas tree cutting from Nov. 24 to Dec  24, 2016. The areas are located adjacent to the Brown Mountain and Harriet Hunt Lake Roads north of Ketchikan and the Lower Silvis Lake area south of Ketchikan. Signs and ribbon will aid identification of the cutting areas.

No permit is required for cutting family Christmas trees. Cutting Christmas trees on National Forest lands for commercial resale is prohibited without a permit. Family Christmas trees must be harvested from National Forest lands and not from adjacent private property.
