PENDLETON, Ore. (July 19, 2022) — Forest Service officials on the North Fork John Day Ranger District have reopened the Beeman Junkins Trail #3015 at the Welch Creek trailhead (located at Welch Creek Campground).
The trail was closed due to an unsafe bridge that crosses Desolation Creek. The bridge supports had deteriorated, which made the bridge unstable. Forest Service employees completed repairs on the bridge this week. Public access into the area reopened upon completion of the work.
