The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at day-use recreation sites in Oregon and Washington on November 11th and 12th in honor of Veterans Day.

Within the Umpqua National Forest, day-use fees will be waived at seven locations:

  • Trailhead parking areas for Umpqua Hot Springs, Howlock Mountain, Mt. Thielsen and North Crater
  • Boat ramps at Diamond Lake's South Shore and North End
  • Day use area at South Umpqua Falls

As a reminder, fees are not waived at campgrounds or for cabin rentals.

“We honor our veterans each November 11th as well as every other day of the year,” said Umpqua Forest Supervisor Alice Carlton. “Perhaps by encouraging our veterans and other visitors to use the two free days to explore the Umpqua National Forest, they will discover a place where they can take time out for themselves.”

For more information on specific fee sites on the Umpqua National Forest, visit www.fs.usda.gov/umpqua.
