COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED FOR REVISED
TRAVEL MANAGEMENT PLAN PROPOSAL

March 24, 2017, Salt Lake City, Utah - Based on public interest, the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is extending the comment period on a proposal to amend the Travel Management Plan for roads in Farmington Canyon and Lamb’s Canyon for an additional 15 days. The comment period for the proposal begins March 24, 2017 and ends close of business April 10, 2017.
The project proposal requires changes to the current Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) by establishing summer use dates and winter seasonal closure dates for the two roads and clarifies the Lamb’s Canyon road as a National Forest System road in the Travel Management Plan. These roads are currently closed to highway vehicles during the winter season for public safety and to protect critical watershed. The proposal would establish a summer season of use for the Farmington Canyon Road from June 15 to November 1 and implement a seasonal closure during the winter months from November 1 to June 15. Other uses would continue including pedestrian, skier, and non-motorized winter recreational opportunities.
