MOTORIZED TRAIL MAINTENANCE
ON THE HEBER-KAMAS RANGER DISTRICT

Kamas, Utah,– August 10, 2018 – The Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest will be implementing some trail maintenance on the Taylor’s Fork ATV Trail.

 WHEN:           Friday, August 10, 2018 starting at 9:00am – 5:00pm

WHERE:         Taylor’s Fork ATV Trailhead, (FR Trail 332) (Approximately 9 miles east of Kamas).

Forest personnel will be using explosives to address hazard concerns from rocks and uprooted/hung up trees causing unsafe riding conditions on the trail in this area.  Crews have been working on the project drilling holes in rocks that will be used to place the explosives in on Friday.

There will be road guards posted at both ends of the trail during the blasting.  Law enforcement officers will be in the area to help maintain public safety.

Continuing with the maintenance and cleanup of the trail there will be a Sweico trail dozer in the area for the following two weeks moving the rocks and trees impacted by the blasting project to help improve the trail.
