Mule Deer Winter Habitat Project Logan Ranger District

Logan, Utah, November 2, 2018 - The Logan Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is seeking volunteers to assist in seeding and shrub planting project to improve mule deer winter habitat. 

When and Where:  Saturday, November 10, 2018,                                                 9:00am – 4:00pm
                                 seeding only in Dry, Providence, in
                                 and Green Cnayon                                                                   Saturday, November 17, 2018, 9:00am                                   -4:00pm shrub planting only in Dry                                         and Providence Canyons           

Volunteers will be spreading sage, bitter brush, chokecherry, serviceberry, and snowberry seeds and planting mountain big sagebrush, mahogany, snowberry, and bitterbrush seedlings.

Volunteers are required to wear long sleeves, long pants, boots, eye protection, sun screen and bring lots of water.  They are also encouraged to bring heavy metal rakes, shovels, hoes, and seed spreaders on Nov. 10 and augers on Nov. 17 if they have them.
