Recreation Report - Hells Canyon Idaho
The developed recreation site report provides the current known conditions for the main recreation sites in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area - Idaho. This recreation area includes sites found on the Idaho side of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area from Black Lake north to Deer Creek Road. Recreation sites along the Snake River are found on the Hells Canyon- Snake River Recreation Report.
A recreation site that is shown as 'MAINTAINED' has been inspected the district recreation manager, the known hazards (e.g. uprooted trees, downed branches, rockslides, damaged structures) have been removed, and annual maintenance tasks have been completed.
- Hazards may occur at any time so always be prepared for unplanned events. Typical hazards include downed trees, flooded sites, rocks and snow on the road, etc.

Please be advised that late spring and early fall snow levels are ever changing and that roads and trails may be covered with snow. Contact your local Ranger District for the most current information on roads and trails.
