Subpart B - Forest Travel Management

Subpart B - Designation of Roads, Trails, and Areas for Motor Vehicle Use

As shown in 36 CFR 212 subpart B, this subpart provides for a system of National Forest System roads, National Forest System trails, and areas on National Forest System lands that are designated for motor vehicle use. After these roads, trails, and areas are designated, motor vehicle use, including the class of vehicle and time of year, not in accordance with these designations is prohibited by 36 CFR 261.13.

Current Status of Analysis

After considering other project priorities, the Regional Forester provided direction to the Forest for continuing the subpart B analysis and planning.

 Previous Public Involvement

 In August 2014, Forest Supervisor John Lawrence requested public input to validate the existing road and trail system regarding their current condition and type of motorized use. The date for contributing to the 'Existing Condition Maps' ended on March 31, 2015.
