History

The Forest Service celebrated it's 100th birthday in 2005 - with a Century of Service.  The Wayne National Forest employees created a tribute to this commemorative event by making a quilt reflecting the history of their Forest.  For more information on the Forest employee's quilt, click here.

The History of the Wayne National Forest area has been divided into several phases. Each of the following time frames have information, continually evolving, on additional pages. Click on each phase for more information.
