Little Cities of the Forest Collaborative

Little Cities of the Forest Collaborative is a discussion group and decision-making body of five organizations and surrounding communities interested in the management and interpretation of the natural and cultural resources of the Little Cities of Black Diamonds microregion.

Partner organizations include Sunday Creek Associates/Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council, Monday Creek Restoration Project, Sunday Creek Watershed Group, North Country Trail Association and the Wayne National Forest.

The Collaborative is working to create a special sense of place around the regenerating natural environment of the microregion, home to Ohio’s only National Forest, the North Country National Scenic Trail and the inspiring watershed restoration projects in Sunday and Monday Creeks.

This new sense of place will support the redevelopment of one of Ohio’s most economically challenged areas into a destination for tourism that enhances the environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage and well-being of its residents.  The Wayne National Forest entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Collaborative’s sponsor organization, Sunday Creek Associates, in 2007.
