In addition to the visitor centers at the Forest Headquarters and District offices, there are a couple visitor centers that can also provide information for your recreation plans while visiting the Forest.

Winter Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
(Note: White Mountain Attractions is open 7 days per week, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but the Forest Service desk is staffed only on the days/hours shown above.)

This information center has a full interpretive display that provides a history of the Forest and its evolution over time. The center was developed using the Smithsonian guidelines for accessibility, and has tactile, hands-on displays as well as an audio-described tour. Staff are available to provide information and suggestions on short hikes, campgrounds, and other activities and programs. Restrooms are also available.
