Big Swamp Fire

Start Date: Aug. 1, 2022

District: Middle Fork Ranger District

Overview: Located 6.5 miles North of Lemolo Lake.

Cedar Creek Fire 

Start Date: Aug. 1, 2022

District: Middle Fork Ranger District

Overview: The fire is located in incredibly steep, inaccessible terrain about 3 miles west of Waldo Lake, north of Highway 58 and 12 miles east of the community of Oakridge.

Potter Fire 

Start Date: July 31, 2022

District: Middle Fork Ranger District

Overview: The Potter Fire is located near Potter Mountain on the Middle Fork Ranger District.

Windigo Fire 

Start Date: July 30, 2022

District: Middle Fork Ranger District 

Overview: This lightning-caused fire started 10 miles Northeat of Lemolo Lake, 20NM Soutwest of La Pine, Oregon. 

Closure Information: As of Aug. 22, there are no closures on the Willamette National Forest.
 

Middle Fork Complex Fire (Including Kwis Fire)

A plume of smoke is visible above tall pine trees. A gravel road leads to the smoke.(A Complex is two or more individual fire incidents in the same geographical location assigned to a single incident commander or unified command)

Start Date: July 27-29, 2021

District: Middle Fork Ranger District

Overview: Fires that were within the Complex were Devils Canyon, Elephant Rock, Gales, Journey, Kwis, Larison Cove, Ninemile, Packard, Symbol Rock, Warble, Way and Winfall.

Holiday Farm Fire

Trees burning in the Holiday Farm FireStart Date: Sept. 7, 2020

District: McKenzie River Ranger Distric

Overview: The fire started along Highway 126, west of McKenzie Bridge to Vida, Oregon. For more information, view the Holiday Farm Fire page.

Beachie Creek and Lionshead Fires

Smoke plume over the Willamette National ForestStart Date: Aug. 16, 2020

District: Detroit Ranger District

Overview: The fire started approximately two miles south of Jaw Bones flats in rugged terrain deep in the Opal Creek Wilderness. For more information, view the Beachie Creek and Lionshead Fires page.

Jones Fire

Start Date: Aug. 10, 2017

District: Middle Fork Ranger District

Overview: The lightning-caused fire 10 miles northeast of Lowell, approximately 9 miles east of Fall Creek reservoir and 1 mile north of Clark Butte.

Closure Information: The Jones Fire Closure Order has expired and will not be extended because the Jones Fire closure area is within the Middle Fork Complex Closure Order.
