Hood-Willamette Resource Advisory Committee call for proposals; $1.14 million currently available



Sandy and Springfield, Ore. (Oct. 11, 2019) - Approximately $1.14 million are currently available for award through the Secure Rural Schools Title II program. The Hood-Willamette Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) is looking for projects that restore watersheds, address road issues, control invasive weeds, improve forest health or otherwise improve conditions on or near National Forest System (NFS) lands. These proposed projects should benefit the Mt. Hood National Forest, Willamette National Forest and/or the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. 


The Hood-Willamette RAC consists of 15 members who represent a variety of interest groups. The RAC works together to review and recommend approval of forest improvement projects to the deciding federal official. The Hood-Willamette RAC will be convening on Jan. 14 and Feb. 11, 2020, to make funding recommendations for these Title II funds. Sponsors of funded projects will be notified of awards in mid-February 2020.
