Hood-Willamette Resource Advisory Committee Call for Proposals

April 15, 2021 (Springfield, OR) - The Hood-Willamette Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) is seeking project proposals that restore watersheds, address fire recovery efforts and road issues, control invasive weeds, improve forest health or otherwise improve resource conditions on or near National Forest System (NFS) lands.  These proposed projects should benefit the Mt. Hood National Forest, Willamette National Forest and/or the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, be vetted by unit level Staff officers and be National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) ready. Approximately $1.9 million are currently available for award through the Secure Rural Schools Title II Program. 

The Hood-Willamette RAC consists of 14 members who represent a variety of interest groups.  The RAC works together to review and recommend the approval of forest improvement projects to the deciding federal official (DFO).  The Hood-Willamette RAC will convene virtually June 7 and 9, 2021 to discuss project proposals and hear presentations by project proponents. Additionally, the RAC will virtually convene July 7, 2021 to make funding recommendations for these Title II funds.  Sponsors of funded projects will be notified of awards by August 2021.
