Wildfires Can Happen In ANY Season

Smokey SnowflakeThe wet summer monsoon resulted in higher than normal grass growth, also known as fuel loading.  With the recent warm and dry weather, fuels may be dry enough to ignite. Light fuels such as grass and pine needles dry out rapidly even after heavy precipitation. It only takes a little wind and some sun and they’re ready to burn.  Always be careful with fire or hot ashes. Extinguish all campfires completely no matter what the season.
