Symposium 30:75:100 - The Stoichiometry of Research, Science Education and Forest Conservation in Puerto Rico


The U.S. Forest Service, Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DNER), Natural Sciences UPR Río Piedras and the Long Term Ecological Research Program (LTER) invite you to a symposium celebrating the achievements and benefits of three research-based institutions and programs, scientific education and forest conservation in Puerto Rico. The stoichiometry 30:75:100 represents three anniversaries to celebrate: the 30th anniversary of the Long Term Ecological Research Program of Luquillo, 75th anniversary of scientific education at the UPR College of Natural Sciences, and 100th anniversary of forest conservation by the Government of Puerto Rico.

Date and Time

Thursday, December 6, 2018. Award Ceremony and Opening. 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8, 2018. Symposium with guest speakers and panelists. 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. both days.


All the activities will be in the amphitheaters of General Studies of UPR - Río Piedras.
