Monitoring

Arrow for phase three that explains more in depth what happens in that phase

The Implementation and Monitoring Phase is expected to begin in Summer 2022 and extend over the 15-20 year life of the Plan. By continuously testing relevant assumptions, monitoring provides feedback, tracks relevant conditions over time, and measures management effectiveness. It also enables the Forest to determine if a change in Plan components is needed, which supports adaptive management.

The Plan Monitoring Program consists of monitoring questions and associated indicators to evaluate whether Plan components are effective and appropriate, and whether management is effective in maintaining or achieving progress toward desired conditions and objectives.

During Monitoring, the Forest works with other entities-including Tribes, States, Federal agencies, local governments, nonprofits, businesses, and communities-often developing partnerships to work together on data collection and evaluation.
