Experience the Highland Scenic Highway

Of course, the audio tour is only half of the experience. This tour was made with the intention that it would accompany the sounds of a road trip, like a cool wind A black and white photo of a lumber jack standing proudly, his 2-man hand saw bent over his shoulderblowing through an open window while driving at a leisurely pace. The tour was designed to accompany a drive across the highway, starting from the Gauley Ranger station. It follows stops along the highway and provides context for the sights along the way. There's no sense in rushing, though. Interpretive signs at stops along the tour provide even more color to these stories and encourage you to pause and enjoy the experience at your own pace.
