Highway 12 Corridor Report

Picture of the Lochsa River and Highway 12, looking southThe Highway 12 Corridor Report entitled Values of the Middle Fork Clearwater and Lochsa River Corridor Potentially Affected by Certain Over-Legal Truck Traffic, dated March 2015, may be viewed and downloaded from links provided on this site.

This report was written to inventory and describe the corridor’s intangible values and intrinsic characteristics that may be impacted by permitting over-legal-size vehicles on Highway 12.  This report is not an impact study – it does not attempt to identify, quantify, or otherwise describe impacts or effects.  Instead, the focus is on characterizing the often difficult to describe social values and perceptions of this special place, in a comprehensive combined fashion.  Our goal in preparing the report was to inform and assist dialog among the public, affected agencies, and Nez Perce people.
