With a clear need to address aspen decline across Monroe Mountain the Richfield Ranger District started collaborating with interested parties, groups, and organizations, and Federal, State and local government agencies to develop a plan. A diverse working group was formed to assess current conditions and make plans for aspen restoration on the mountain. Collaboration is a key factor to the success of improving aspen on Monroe Mountain.

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest

We have worked hard on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to meet the objectives for each goal since the plan was introduced in 2015. Featured in this “Year In Review”report are the Forest’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 accomplishments toward those goals.

Salmon-Challis National Forest

The Middle Fork Ranger District field crew accomplished a large amount of work in 2016. The field crew worked with partners on maintenance of 279.3 miles of Wilderness trails, performed bridge maintenance, and completed an airstrip maintenance project. They had a safe and successful field season.
