If you enjoy scenic beauty, extended hikes, short day hikes, and the serenity of escaping from the crowds, then you have come to the right place. The Yankee Fork Ranger District offers over 300 miles of trails to enjoy. There are trails that will take you into a mixture of rugged peaks, timbered slopes, narrow canyon bottoms and majestic lakes. The Yankee Fork District offers a vast variety of trails to satisfy the desires of all kinds of uses, motorcycles, four wheelers, horseback, bicyclers and hikers, whether they are a novice or experienced.

Lost River Ranger District - Hiking-Backpacking-Climbing

Hiking and backpacking opportunities range from short hikes on maintained trails to extended cross-country hikes requiring several days to complete. Climbing opportunities are found throughout the district. These include non-technical and technical climbs. The most popular climb on the district is Borah Peak - Idaho's highest peak. For information on climbing Borah Peak click here. All of the peaks in Idaho with elevations over 12,000 feet are at least partially located on the Lost River River Ranger District.
