Description:
Intended for all audiences, this highly interactive workshop applies principles of interest-based negotiation, self-awareness, and group dynamics to complex multi-party negotiations to resolve environmental disputes and maximize sustainable solutions. Participants assess their strengths and areas for improvement in communication, relationship-building, and conflict style in an immersive scenario-based simulation experience involving multiple agencies, tribal, and stakeholder groups.
Learning Objectives:
- Develop awareness of the essential nature of communication and relationship building in multi-party negotiation of environmental conflicts.
- Become familiar with the basics of interest-based negotiation and how they apply to complex settings.
- Practice sharing interests, generating alternatives, and negotiating an environmental conflict in a multi-party context. 4. Share actual multi-party negotiation experiences in environmental conflicts.
