The Sustainability Solutions Web site is designed to help the Forest Service exercise sustainable practices in compliance with executive order 13514, "Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance." By 2015, Federal agencies are supposed to be recycling 50 percent of their wastes. By 2020, Federal agencies are supposed to have reduced vehicle fleet fuel use by 30 percent, increased water efficiency by 26 percent, and reduced greenhouse emissions by a target set by the agency. By 2030, the goal is for Federal buildings to produce as much energy as they consume.
