Above is a drawing of live posts planted on a stream bank. It shows several live posts that are "7'-20' long, 3"-6" diameter and should extend to dry-season water level". The live post are triangular spaced 2 to 4 feet apart and are planted on a 2:1 to 5:1 slope. The live branches of the post grow 6"-12" above high water. The drawing also shows that "existing vegetation, plantings, or soil bioengineering techniques" can be used in addition. The drawing notes: "Rooted, leafed condition of plant material is not representative of the time of installation.
