II. INTRODUCTION

This plan addresses the facilities needed to support the administrative activities of the Mt. Hood National Forest. Non-administrative recreation and special use facilities are not part of this plan.

The purpose of the Facilities Master Plan is to guide the acquisition, continued use, and disposal of facilities (FSH 7309.11). The plan's goals are:

  • Integrate facility needs into a Forest wide plan.

  • Assure that facilities are in the best location to manage the resources.

  • Provide short and long term management strategies for facility sites.

This plan was developed by a Forest facility master plan team comprised of the Forest Facilities Engineer, Forest Archaeologist, Forest Property Officer, Assistant lands Staff and a District representative. The team had two primary tasks. One was to develop a Forest facilities master plan by consolidating the District facility master plans and incorporating changes made by the Forest Leadership Team (FLT). The second was to develop processes to decommission unneeded facilities.
