Public Participatory Design Process

Using the "Charrette" Method

Checking Out the Site

  • Visit the site if possible.

  • Topographic maps and aerial photographs are good visual aids.

  • Note views in and out of the site, where the sun is, land forms, vegetation, engineering characteristics, soils, wind, drainage, access, adjacent structures, setbacks, zoning, wetlands, rocks, security issues, threatened and endangered species, anything else that might affect the structure.
