Celebrate National Forest Week July 12-18

June 16, 2021

Hiker on a ledge looking out at the view: National Forest Week, July 12-18.
National Forest Week, spearheaded by the National Forest Foundation, is July 12-18, 2021.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—For the third year, the National Forest Foundation is inviting the USDA Forest Service and all Americans to celebrate national forests. The event is held during the second full week of July, and this year’s messaging will focus on a theme of “Explore It All.”

From July 12 to 18, the foundation will host virtual events online, accept submissions to the National Forest Week photo contest and share content to inspire Americans to learn more about their public lands and the National Forest System.

Tune in on Monday, July 12, at 2 p.m. EDT for our virtual kickoff event. To watch, follow the foundation's Instagram @nationalforests or visit nationalforestweek.org.

As we get closer to National Forest Week, continue to visit nationalforestweek.org for a final virtual event schedule and more information.

The foundation invites all units and Forest Service staff to share National Forest Week messaging across social media channels. As individuals who steward and spend time on National Forest lands, we invite you to celebrate by telling your stories and sharing your unique experiences. While National Forests are worthy of celebration all year, we are excited to shine a light on these special places during National Forest Week.

Ways to get involved:

  • Tune in and help promote virtual events during National Forest Week
  • Share messaging prior to and during National Forest Week and use the hashtag #NationalForestWeek on social media
  • Submit your photo and help promote the photo contest throughout your network
