WASHINGTON, D.C.—On Wednesday, June 16, Deputy Chief Chris French, National Forest System, testified before the Public Lands, Forests, & Mining Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources on several public lands bills.

His testimony on 10 public lands bills highlighted the critical role of wilderness and wild and scenic rivers in protecting habitat, providing recreation accesses and creating local jobs. He also discussed the importance of restoring degraded landscapes and providing clear and accessible data to facilitate equitable recreation access to our public lands.
